Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

 

We are looking for someone with the capabilities to plan, organize and control the movement of freight using company assets in a dispatch role and as well as a broker role to forward freight. You must able to schedule the movement of freight efficiently and cost effectively. This job at times can be fast paced and you must be able to work independently. We’re looking for a person that can handle a weekly driver payroll and assorted paperwork that comes along with that including but not limited to DOT. Customer service is bar none when it comes to this job, you must be able to provide excellent service. Conflicts with shipments can potentially rise every day and we need someone that is good at conflict resolution. Basic computer skills are required such as Microsoft Office, email, and the internet and previous QuickBooks experience is a plus. Another plus would also be a working knowledge of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc to help with some marketing to promote our growing company.

 

Abilities/ Skills Required:
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills. Strong organizational ability, detail oriented, ability to handle a fast pace work environment. Ability to solve problems efficiently and remain calm under pressure. Self motivated, with negotiation skills. Computer experience necessary: Windows and Excel or similar programs such as Google applications for business.

 

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity for data entry, stooping, bending for filing, good listening and speaking ability.

 

Education / Training Required:
College degree preferred along with previous experience in sales/ marketing. Previous experience in trucking industry a plus.
